University Owned Apartments

These apartments are not managed by Off-Campus Student Services. For further information regarding the University Owned Off-Campus apartments listed below, please contact Panther Central.

The University of Pittsburgh owns affordable and well-maintained apartments that are available to be leased by undergrads, graduate students, staff, and faculty. All University-owned apartments can be rented on a one-year lease. The apartments are unfurnished (Residences on Bigelow is fully furnished) and located in several neighborhoods close to the University of Pittsburgh. Residences on Bigelow

Residences on Bigelow available to Graduate Students, Staff, Faculty, Medical Students, and Undergrads.

Darragh Street Apartments

Darragh Street Apartments available exclusively for students in the Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, and Nursing Schools.

College Gardens Apartments

College Gardens Apartments in Shadyside available to Undergrads, Graduate Students, Staff, and Faculty.

Hyacinth Apartments

Hyacinth Apartments available to Undergrads, Graduate Students, Staff, and Faculty.

 

Undergraduate & Transfer Students

Undergraduate students are not required to live on-campus and may choose to reside in University-owned apartments or off-campus housing.  

If you are an undergraduate student, you may be eligible to live in the University’s residence halls. If you have a valid housing guarantee, visit Panther Central for more information about your housing options. Undergraduate students without guaranteed on-campus housing are placed on a waiting list and assigned accommodations based on availability. To discuss your eligibility for on-campus housing accommodations, contact Panther Central.  

Graduate Students

Graduate students are unable to live in on-campus accommodations and must choose to reside in University-owned apartments or independently owned off-campus apartments.  

International Students

If you are an undergraduate student, you may be eligible to live in one of the University’s residence halls. Contact Panther Central to determine if you have a housing guarantee or need to be placed on the non-guaranteed waitlist. However, you are not required to live on-campus and may choose to reside in a University-owned apartment or independently owned off-campus apartment.  

Graduate students and visiting scholars are not eligible to live in the University’s residence halls and will need to reside in University-owned apartments or off-campus accommodations.
