• Mark is looking for a roommate to share in a three-bedroom. Lease term: August 11th 2009 til August 10th 2010. Your cost will be $325/Mo. plus approximately $100/Mo. for utilities. Located: The apartment is located in South Oakland, on Joe Hammer Square, right off Craft Avenue. About 15 minute walk to most of campus, and less than 5 minutes to 5th Ave for public transportation. Preferences: We have one female cat, and we can add another if necessary ($50 non refundable deposit to landlord.) We are looking for someone who is social, can handle conflict face to face, doesn't necessarily need to be best friends, but friendly conversation wouldn't hurt. Also, no drugs. No preference on graduate or undergraduate. Our ages/gender are 23 M and 26 F. Gay friendly required, too. Non smoking within the apartment itself. Features: Pitt bus shuttle runs through the area in the evening. We have furniture in the living room and kitchen equipment, however the bedroom is not furnished, and there is no air conditioning (however you can install a window unit if desired). On site laundry, and buzzed entry system. 2 balconies. The apartment is pretty much typically what you'd expect in South Oakland college housing. The Pitt bus shuttle and PAT 84B stops across the street from my house. If you want to walk to Pitt, it is 10-15 walk. The house is carpeted & has a washer/dryer unit, kitchen, eat-in kitchen, formal dining room, living room, patio, & on-street parking. Rent is $450/Mo. plus electricity + cable/internet.   The kitchen should be kept clean at all times...this includes the dishes should not be kept in the sink forever and everyone should wash their own dishes; the garbage should be put in the basement when the bag is overflowing, etc. The bathroom should be kept clean and the cleaning should not fall upon one person. Features: The apartment is on the top floor of an older 12-unit building. While the apartment has some aesthetic issues (i.e. wood paneling in places), the rent is cheap and heat is included. The available bedroom is 12'x6', has two windows facing the street, a closet, and room for a twin bed/futon, a dresser, and small desk.
