Owned and operated by private landlords who have no affiliation with the University, these apartments have been inspected by the City and found to comply with “BOCA Existing Structures” code at the time of inspection. Private landlords are encouraged to participate in the non-mandatory city inspection process as part of an Off-Campus Living incentive program.
All apartment listings are subject to the Fair Housing Act, which makes it illegal to advertise “any preference, limitation, or discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin or an intention to make any such preference, limitation, or discrimination.” The University of Pittsburgh will not knowingly accept any advertising or apartment listings for real estate that is in violation of the law.
